  • Learn the original 10 classical pulses from Huang Di Nei Jing, Nan Jing, and Shang Han Za Bing Lun.
  • Practice the Five Key Steps of Pulse Diagnosis (切脉五要), from regulating breath and spirit to developing treatment strategies based on pulse interpretation.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the Shang Han Lun pulse system, focusing on core diagnostic guidelines such as pulse depth, rate, strength, elasticity, size, length, and clarity.
  • Understand the vertical three-level pulse framework (Fu, Zhong, Chen) and master pulse force according to classical texts like Nan Jing.
  • Explore the integration of pulse and tongue diagnosis for accurate pattern differentiation and treatment planning.

Instructors:

Prof. Dr. Li Jie
With over 30 years of experience in teaching and clinical practice, Prof. Dr. Li Jie is a leading authority in Classical Chinese Medicine. He earned his Master’s degree in 1989 from Beijing Medical University, followed by a PhD and postdoctoral research on apoptosis at the University of Nijmegen under Prof. Wendelaar Bonga. A passionate educator, Dr. Li Jie is committed to preserving and promoting authentic Chinese medicine. He is the founder and academic director of the Qingbai TCM Academy in the Netherlands and the Institute for Classics in East Asian Medicine (www.tcmclassics.org).

He lectures widely across Europe and teaches advanced training courses for the Dutch Association for Medical Acupuncture (NAAV). Since 1998, he has led comprehensive Shang Han Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue programs for Western practitioners.His seminars cover a wide range of topics—from breast cancer and emotional disorders to classical herbal and acupuncture formulas—bridging traditional knowledge with modern clinical relevance.

 

Dr. Mariusz Giżycki
Born in 1962, Dr. Mariusz Giżycki is both a medical doctor and a physicist, blending scientific rigor with a deep humanistic passion. He studied applied physics at Wrocław University of Science and Technology and medicine at the Medical University of Wrocław. He received his doctorate from Imperial College, London.

Dr. Giżycki holds a Bachelor of Acupuncture from the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Herbal Medicine (LCTA) and pursued extensive training in Chinese medicine with renowned teachers such as Matthias Hunecke, Claude Diolosa, Dr. Feng Shi Lun, Dr. Li Jie, and Dr. Arnaud Versluys.

He brings a multifaceted approach to learning, combining the analytical mind of a physicist with a deep fascination for the Chinese mind-body paradigm—especially the teachings of Shang Han Lun and Chinese herbal medicine.
